Lucy was an amazing spirit and did incredibly well throughout her journey with cancer. In the final months there were a few bumps in the road, which she overcame with her inherent exuberance for life. Even near the end, she chased squirrels and lived with an energy that amazed me.....until her last week, when I knew in my heart I had to let her go. On May 14, 2005, she was gently and peacefully released at home surrounded by people who loved her. I will always be grateful to her for the valuable lessons she taught me and the beauty she brought to my life. |
